Academic Governance and Assurance – role of the board of governors: reflective questions

Part of the Advance HE member benefit project Academic Assurance, this series of questions, developed by Advance HE in partnership with UUK, GuildHE and CUC, will support HE governors to self-examine their practice and consider what is most appropriate for individual institutions.

Academic Assurance is one of Advance HE's Governance Effectiveness Projects, and has been driven by the increased need for governors to understand and effectively receive evidence-based assurance about “student outcomes” in England as a requirement from the OfS, but increasingly in other UK Nations as part of their regulatory requirements.
