Advance HE Teaching & Learning Conference 2018: Supporting the transition to university Mathematics in sub-Saharan Africa

The aim of this session will be to disseminate the approach and outcomes of a collaboration between Cardiff University and the University of Namibia (UNAM) to support the transition to university Mathematics in sub-Saharan Africa as part of the Phoenix Project; one of Cardiff University’s flagship engagement projects. This particular strand of the project focusses on an intervention in the form of a Mathematics Summer School which took the form of a series of interactive workshops and activities jointly developed and delivered by faculty members and postgraduate research students from both universities.
