As notions of creativity innovation interdisciplinarity and excellence inform learning and teaching it is essential that assessment systems are able to meet those aspirations in price.
This study describes the 'creative continuum' and the system of 'negotiated assessment' for creative practical work that was developed and implemented at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA). Commencing with a contextual background and a description of the 'creative continuum' the study then goes on to describe the implementation of the 'negotiated assessment' system at LIPA.
