The Higher Education Academy in partnership with UKCISA funded twenty ‘Connections’ pilot projects in 2012 on the theme of internationalisation of learning and teaching. The projects aimed to make connections between different departments services and institutions and with local communities. They helped to support international students studying in the UK as well as encouraging UK students to take opportunities overseas and on their home campuses to be more internationally aware.
This project was centred around preparing a Chemistry department for the arrival of a number of Chinese students transferring to Liverpool as part of an international university exchange (in Sept 12) with the key aim of developing necessary skills for interculturally competent graduates.
