Employability: How to maximise the employability of Psychology graduates

Although the generic profile of graduate skills demanded by employers is reasonably well understood the same cannot be said about how employability is supported and evidenced particularly in relation to psychology. This project will research the views of main employers (and non-employers) of Leeds psychology graduates on how employability can be most effectively developed. Employers will appraise the psychology curriculum and existing support for employability at Leeds. Employers will also be asked about a range of relevant issues such as expectations of psychology graduates reasons for recruiting/not recruiting and the types of learning activities in which they would like psychology graduates to have engaged. The project will also examine the feasibility of simulating the demands of common workplace tasks within the psychology curriculum with a view to determining constructive means for embedding employability into the curriculum.
