Feed-forward/feed-back a view of face-to-face marking - HEA Annual Conference 2017 - Generation TEF: Teaching in the spotlight

The purpose of this study is to gauge if face to face marking could be successful and manageable in a busy undergraduate programme. At the outset it was clearly a precarious task to mark a second year undergraduate module in front of the student; certain parameters needed to be in place such as: well designed feedback forms presented to the students prior to the feedback sessions. A clear understanding between the Lecturer and student of the structure of the marking process. Face-to-face marking can transfer an understanding of the process of marking first hand. It can be memorable and can help students to change attitudes and approaches.
