HEA review of research literature: Assessment and feedback

This review forms one of a suite of four literature reviews commissioned by the HEA in 2015-16 to inform the sector of recent work in this area.

This research project will develop a literature review examining the issue of ‘Assessment and feedback’ in higher education drawing on recent developments and experiences in the sector. Using the foundations built through the HEA’s Framework for transforming assessment in higher education and the publication A Marked Improvement the review will address significant changes in the policy context since 2012 and explore literature that has identified links between practice in assessment and improvement of student learning outcomes.

The project will produce a literature review concept map and up-to-date database of recent literature exploring the issue of assessment in higher education.
