In 2011 the former Leadership Foundation for Higher Education, funded by Hefce, completed a study of distinctiveness and identity in the Cathedral Group institutions. This highlights how faith based values:
- Contribute to the student experience
- Support a positive working environment for staff; and
- Shape partnerships and community engagement
The study also identified messages for secular universities and colleges.
