Making the transition to interdisciplinarity: Effective strategies for early student support

This presentation was delivered at the Interdisciplinary Sustainability Education: Insights Momentum and Futures event held at the Higher Education Academy in York on 14th December 2011. The event shared findings from eight inter-disciplinary Education for sustainable development projects funded in 2010 by the HE Academy.

Dr Zoe Robinson of Keele University gave this presentation about a HEA funded interdisciplinary sustainability education project. The project aimed to address the problem of first year students in an interdisciplinary ESD course struggling with the transition from the discipline focused lessons they received at school.
