Plymouth University - Effective learner analytics - Strategic Excellence Initiative

What is the project?

This Learning Analytics project is looking at Plymouth University’s use of  ‘big data’ the electronic footprint that everyone leaves behind when they interact with our digital systems. The project will link across the University to involve students senior staff and the governors thereby shifting the focus to student and senior staff needs and refining the way in which we use Analytics to provide an understanding of expectations and requirements.

What the project hopes to achieve?

At the project’s completion the University will have a shared student/staff vision related to the preferred data sources uses (both current and future) of Learner Analytics (LA) data risks and concerns (both personal and institutional). This shared vision can then be translated into action ensuring that future LA developments are appropriate to the needs of both students and the institution.
