Postgraduate Supervision and Support in Psychology: A review of good practice

This report focuses on how UK higher education institutions (HEIs) psychology departments and psychology staff can better provide supervision and other forms of support to the growing number and diversity of postgraduate students (in the US graduate students) in psychology. It forms part of Best practice in supervision and support for postgraduates in psychology a Learning and Teaching Support Network ( LTSN) Psychology project funded by the LTSN Development Fund. The aims of this project were to collect information regarding the supervision and other support needs of students in the range of postgraduate programmes in psychology; to identify good and innovative practice in supervision and support for postgraduate students both within and beyond the discipline of psychology; and to disseminate knowledge of such practices programmes and policies to the psychology community and more widely in order to foster their utilisation.
