This report summarises the approach and outputs of the project team funded by the Leadership Foundation Small Development Project in 2011 to share their learning from the introduction of talent and succession management schemes within their own institutions with a view to adapting their materials to create some generic tools that could be used by other HEIs. The team’s intention was to create a set of practical tools that would offer definitions of talent and succession management, a framework or sensible questions to ask at each stage, potential pitfalls, case examples and further reading.
