Surveys and Insights Conference 2019: Academic boredom engagement and the achievement of undergraduate students at university

As hard as it might be to imagine students really do get bored at university. In this session findings from a recently completed boredom survey identify the most commonly associated sites and triggers as well as the coping strategies employed by individuals as a result. For those students measurably more prone to academic boredom than others the consequences of actually getting bored on a regular basis are far from trivial and not to be overlooked. The implications arising from findings including suggestions for boredom mitigation are presented and considered.
