A new framework which aims to support and embed employability in higher education is published today as part of Advance HE’s ‘Student Success’ series.
The Employability Framework is the first in a series of revised frameworks contained within ‘Essential Frameworks for Enhancing Student Success’, which are guidelines developed by the sector, for the sector.
Over the past two years, Advance HE has lead the progression and development of nine existing frameworks, drawing upon evidenced based peer reviewed literature, reports, working papers, case studies and evaluations. Feedback from the global sector through a range of webinars, summits and guided conversations has helped to enhance the frameworks further.
The Employability Framework shapes the direction of the Student Success series pointing to three core components that form the structure of the frameworks: the student, the educator and the institution.
Stuart Norton, Senior Consultant (Education) at Advance HE, said,
“This is the first framework in the series that can help higher education institutions deliver student success and I am delighted to launch this sector-developed framework that is of and for the sector.
“It’s a framework to enhance your practice and enable students to achieve their potential.”
Advance HE invites all those teaching or supporting learning to evidence their use of the Employability Framework, or other Student Success Frameworks, in applying for Fellowship in recognition of their commitment to professional practice.
