Advance HE was delighted to be commissioned by UKRI to undertake a review of its Terms and Conditions of Training Grant – Assessment of UKRI’s Terms and conditions of Training Grants from an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Perspective – to inform its New Deal for Postgraduate Research.
Welcoming UKRI’s report, review author and Advance HE Senior Consultant EDI, Ellen Pugh, said, “We are even more delighted by UKRI’s response to our recommendations. Over the long term, the commitments to introduce or explore the feasibility of change should improve the support and wellbeing of individual students, particularly disabled students and students who are parents.
“They will also make a significant difference to equality, diversity and inclusion and the overall postgraduate research student experience within the sector for years to come. Such a clear commitment from UKRI to taking steps in the short and longer term to improve EDI within the sector should be congratulated.”
