Updated Data Monitoring Guidance for the sector

26 Apr 2022 | Advance HE Revised guidance issued.

Advance HE has updated its guidance on how to collect data about the identity characteristics of staff and students in UK higher education.

The guidance on the collection of diversity monitoring data gives more clarity when collecting data that relates to sex as a protected characteristic and the Equality Act 2010, and when collecting data for work to create a wider inclusive culture.

The revised guidance is found here. Advance HE has worked closely with solicitors and sector stakeholders in revising the guidance and ensuring it is inclusive and legally compliant. An online Q&A workshop will provide members with support and an opportunity to engage with and ask questions about the revised guidance on 25 May 2022 10am-12pm (BST) - book your place.
