Nkasi is the principle investigator for the Black Student Wellbeing study, funded by the ESRC. This qualitative study captures the life events and experiences that Black students report shape their mental health and wellbeing journeys at university; and explores how institutional and structural racism within UK higher education systems shape their mental health and wellbeing. Nkasi is also the Co-Founder of Black People Talk and Director of Black Students Talk which designs, delivers, and evaluates services and public engagement activities focused on inequalities in mental health and health services in the community, workplace, and education.  She is a Diversity and Inclusion consultant supporting organisations to recognise and remove barriers for a more diverse and inclusive workplace and learning environment. She is also on the board of trustee at Its OK Charity (Charity Number: 1191780) which supports young people with mental illness through intersectional campaigning, education, and mentorship.
