The E-Learning Unit in the School of Mathematics, Statistics & Physics promotes the use of technology to support the teaching and learning of mathematics in the School, University and wider community through a number of collaborative initiatives and innovations. This includes the Numbas e-assessment software and Coursebuilder tool for creating accessible mathematics learning material. The team is made up of Chris Graham, Christian Lawson-Perfect and George Stagg. Chris is Director of the unit and academic lead. Chris is responsible for the implementation of Numbas in the University and beyond. Numbas is the brainchild of Christian, who has worked on the project since its infancy in 2012. Senior developer of the software, Christian, pulls together contributions from across the world. George develops the Coursebuilder software, which offers flexible and accessible course material to students, and plays a key role in supporting academic staff in the use of Numbas.
