Making your curriculum inclusive

Student bodies are increasingly diverse, coming from many cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, a significant number with disabilities and with some students coming from non-traditional backgrounds. These students face particular challenges in adapting to study in higher education. Inclusive curricula provide all students, regardless of background and characteristics, with an equal opportunity to achieve success in their programme.

Through our extensive experience and expertise in both equality, diversity and inclusion, and teaching and learning, we can provide a unique holistic approach supporting you to develop inclusive curricula.

Student success can encompass students’ academic achievement; their progression through HE or into employment, self-employment or further study; their deepening engagement with their programme and/or discipline area; the acquisition and development of skills, and their wider co-curricular achievements. It is the combination of these that helps students realise the potential of HE to transform their lives.

Engaging with our research informed frameworks in combination, will help identify smarter ways of working. This is achieved through identifying synergies between key strategic priorities that all underpin teaching excellence and the aspiration to support student success in its broadest sense.

Active Digital Design (ADD)

ADD prioritises an active approach to learning and teaching using digital design techniques. It recognises that to engage students online and make them active learners, we need to design with a digital-first mindset.
