Advance HE is seeking expressions of interest for outstanding vacancies

Call for interest: Become a member of the Race Equality Charter Governance Committee 

Following the recently published report of the independent review of the UK Race Equality Charter (REC), Advance HE is establishing a new Race Equality Charter Governance Committee to inform and oversee the development of the Charter. This development work will consider all aspects of the Charter, including systems and processes, panels, materials and support to ensure the future REC is as effective and supportive as possible. 

We are pleased to share the Terms of Reference for the Race Equality Charter Governance Committee, and are now inviting expressions of interest. 

Colleagues interested in applying for membership of the committee should register their interest by 1pm Monday 19 April 2021

Who should apply? 

We invite expressions of interest from a broad selection of colleagues across the higher education and research sector, including: 

  • Senior sector representatives at PVC / Director or equivalent level with experience dealing with issues related to REC Awards; 

  • Institutional REC leads; 

  • Expert representatives including those with board level experience of EDI from within and/or outside the higher education and research sector; 

  • Expert representatives with experience in race equality and organisational development; 

  • HR and/or People Directors or equivalent; 

  • Colleagues based at higher education institutions and research institutes of all sizes and focus areas; 

  • Colleagues from EDI academic backgrounds as well as Professional, technical and operational (PTO) staff; 

  • Colleagues of all genders; 

  • Colleagues from Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities. 

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview in the week commencing the 26th April 2021.
