Strategic enhancement programmes

In the academic year 2014-15 the Higher Education Academy facilitated six strategic enhancement programmes (SEPs) that aimed to support higher education providers through a structured development programme to further enhance the student learning experience in strategic priority areas.

In the first year of inception 101 institutions engaged with one of six enhancement programmes from the following areas:

Specifically through participation  institutions were:

  • supported to enhance current institutional strategies approaches and practices in aspects of learning and teaching that relate to their institutional context and priorities;
  • developing and using evidence to improve the effectiveness of institutional strategies approaches and practices in key areas
  • participating in a national network with the benefits of exchange of practice and learning;
  • understanding and evaluating the process and impact of their enhancement programmes;
  • informing the further development of the HEA’s evidence-informed support and resources for the sector.

The Strategic Enhancement Programme Conference 2016 took place on 11 February 2016 with over 120 representatives from the 101 UK institutions that took part in the programmes. Find out more here.
