Using technology to help students engage with their feedback: Technology Feedback Action! A Short Report

This short report is based on a research project undertaken at Sheffield Hallam University and funded by the HEA.

The Technology Feedback Action! project evaluated how a range of technical interventions might encourage students to engage with their feedback and formulate actions to improve future learning including:

  • online publication of feedback and grades;
  • disengaging the grade from the feedback;
  • linking feedback to assessment criteria.

The project worked with 23 undergraduate students to explore their experiences of receiving feedback with varying degrees of technical intervention.
