For the last decade, Shrehan Lynch has been committed to working with young people and adults in education. She began her career as a secondary school physical education teacher. In 2015, she was awarded a Ph.D. tuition scholarship at the University of Alabama (UA). Since then, alongside her doctoral studies (sport pedagogy), she has worked as an academic and teaching fellow.

In 2019, she became a Senior Lecturer in Initial Teacher Education at the University of East London (UEL). Shrehan's current role includes working in the Department of Education and Communities and focuses on training future teachers through the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), School Direct, and Apprenticeship routes.

While her specialism is Physical Education (PE), she is also responsible for teaching secondary school trainees in all subject areas, core content, and professional studies. For example, antiracist pedagogy, sociocultural issues, and wellbeing. Shrehan has a commitment to education and her impact is showcased as someone who goes above and beyond as a Senior Lecturer in Teacher Education, voluntarily taking on additional roles such as cofounding social justice network in her discipline to support others (PhysEquity), creating innovative and culturally relevant assessments, and upskilling her colleagues on digital platforms to support students. Moreover, she has demonstrated a clear evidence base of her socially just teaching philosophy and the impact of the sociocultural physical education programme at UEL that she has designed.

Shrehan sees teaching and education as a privilege and providing equitable opportunities for individuals in education is a passion of hers. She is most proud of her recently published book 'Pedagogies of Social Justice in Physical Education and Youth Sport' and hope it inspires a generation of individuals to 'BE THE CHANGE'.
