Manchester Metropolitan University - Review and development of a new strategic framework - Strategic Excellence Initiative

What the project is?

The Strategic Framework will define the University’s mission through five thematic pillars:

* Place      * Ambition      * Partnership     * Community     * Sustainability

The initiative seeks to frame a set of unifying student facing principles that everyone in Manchester Met who works to support the student experience can use to frame their particular role whether they are involved in teaching residential services or IT.  It is expected that these principles once finalised will act as a unifying thread for the whole university bringing everyone into a single vision.

What the project hopes to achieve?

Ultimately the objective is to create a sense of belonging for staff and students that fosters confidence in our ability to be a leading university for teaching learning curriculum and employability . . . and to enact our strapline as the ‘University for World Class professionals’ in a collegiate collaborative coherent way.

The strategic initiative will also provide a way to pull together a range of institutional expectations in ways that are aligned to the annual cycle for programme teams and will include assessment management technology-enhanced learning student partnership personal tutoring and learning and teaching development.  There will be a focus on smart target-setting at a programme level based on institutional KPIs providing academic leaders with a framework for governance at every level of operation.
